Dmitry’s first start after the operation
Captain of the Ukrainian national biathlon team Dmitry Pidruchny entered the start list of the blue-yellows for the sprint race of the stage IBU Cup in Austrian Obertilliach.
Pidruchny will run under the 28th number. In addition to him, the Ukrainian national team in men will be represented by Ruslan Tkalenko (No. 24), Artem Tishchenko (No. 48), Taras Lesyuk (No. 81) and Sergey Telen (No. 103).
As for the women’s sprint race, Valeria Dmitrenko (No. 8), Alexander Merkushina (No. 27), Nadezhda Belkina (No. 36), Kristina Dmitrenko (No. 66) and Lilia Steblina (No. 82) will appear in the blue-and-yellow roster.
Pidruchny underwent successful surgery in Germany in December. The athlete was absent from the team due to a torn meniscus.
A full-fledged return of Dmitry is expected at the World Championships in Oberhof, which will be held from February 8 to 19, 2023. Pidruchny was included in the preliminary list of the Ukrainian team for the upcoming World Cup.
