The competition will take place according to the rules of the mixed biathlon relay.
I am a former skier and biathlete. But I haven’t done this job for 18 years, plus for 10 years I haven’t skied at all. It was only last year that I decided to remember my youth. When I first saw “Race of the Stars” I thought, “Damn, cool. I would also like to run such a race. And already this year, Oleg Polunin called and offered to participate. I thought, why not participate? I chose biathlon because it’s more interesting than skiing. And even in my youth, when training and competing, I watched biathlon all the time, which Dmitry Guberniev commented on. And then I thought: “Damn, I wish I could participate in the race commented by Guberniev.” You could say it’s the fulfillment of my dream after twenty years (laughs).
I can’t wait to train. Of course, the first will take place at a calm pace, we will more or less adjust the shooting. And then we’ll have a sprint race. This week there are two more official practices: shooting and passing the track. Admittedly, I was a little sick, but I think I will stay home for two days in order to be in better shape by the weekend.
I’m really looking forward to Race to the Stars. It’s a great party and a very cool idea. Combine Olympic champions with amateurs. Not only the participants, but also the spectators who love this sport will be very interested in witnessing such a spectacular event.
What position am I hoping for? Well, it’s very difficult. I’ve been asked before, “Will you run to the light?” And I said, “Well, yes, but what am I, losing the crown or something.” But in the end I understand that a person who comes from sport is always focused on the result. And I think inside me now to run light or always for the result? (Laughs). But I will try to approach this event lightly – on the outcome. Have fun, but also try to use all possible strength to show this result. Of course, we will count on the prizes (laughs), and then on the result. The most important thing is to get maximum pleasure, to have a vacation for yourself and for the audience, Petrikova told .
A day earlier, Luzhniki will also host a TV Race of the Stars match between skiers. Both races will be broadcast live on the channel.
