Finished third in the sprint at the IBU Cup
Ukrainian biathlete Dmitry Pidruchny took third place in the sprint race at the stage IBU Cup in Austrian Obertilliach. It was Pidruchny’s first race after knee surgery.
After the second shooting range, Pidruchny was in the lead, but on the last lap he lost 10 seconds to two Norwegians – Endre Stremsheim and Vebjorn Sorum.
As for the other Ukrainians in the race, Artem Tishchenko managed to get into the top 20, not closing only one target. The remaining representatives of Ukraine finished outside the top 30.
Pidruchny underwent successful surgery in Germany in December. The athlete was absent from the team due to a torn meniscus.
A full-fledged return of Dmitry is expected at the World Championships in Oberhof, which will be held from February 8 to 19, 2023. Pidruchny was included in the preliminary list of the Ukrainian team for the upcoming World Cup.
