President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov said that the Day of Winter Sports in Russia in 2023 will be held from February 4 to March 5.
– Winter Sports Day, historically scheduled to coincide with the opening date of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, will now be held in the regions of our country for a month. This year – from February 4 to March 5, which will allow the Olympic Councils, with the support of the ROC and the local executive authorities, to choose the best days to organize the holidays, taking into account the weather conditions and optimizing the organizational aspect .
Another innovation is that Winter Sports Day can now be combined with Russian Championships in Winter Olympic disciplines and other competitions. Such a format, I am sure, will have a positive impact on the entertainment of events, will attract even more attention from fans and outdoor enthusiasts, – the ROC press service quoted Pozdnyakov.
Winter Sports Day has been celebrated every year since 2015.
