We have no doubt that it will be a fantastic championship full of exciting biathlon and unforgettable performances. Oberhof has invested heavily in creating a modern and environmentally friendly venue that will provide athletes with ideal conditions for top-level competition and contribute to the development of winter sports in the region for years to come. Over 160,000 fans are expected in this magnificent arena during the championship, and we can be sure of an incredible atmosphere to celebrate our sport.
Russian athletes were suspended from international competitions in February last year. In September, the IBU congress extended the sanctions until further notice.
