Head of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maygurov said that relations with foreign manufacturers of stocks and equipment will not be interrupted, despite the sanctions against the country.
— Of course, the sanctions will have an impact. Last season, the RBU had a positive experience with the use of domestic paraffins and ointments – we won part of the Olympic medals at the Beijing Games on products from Russian manufacturers, which we selected through a project joint of the RBU with the ROC Innovation Center.
For the rest of the positions, if we talk about the inventory of the elite class, it will not only take years to create – maybe decades. RRF is interested in participating in it, a year ago we discussed such a project with the largest manufacturer of skis – a factory in Balabanovo, with the Ministry of Sports of the Kaluga region. That year was the Olympic year, and it was not possible to go beyond the initial stage, but the RRF is still in this project.

Previously, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) suspended all Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. The IBU also suspended the membership of the RBU and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation from the organization.
