Biathlon world champion, deputy of the State Duma Anton Shipulin reacted to the words of Norwegian biathletes Tarjeya And Johannes Be who opposed the return of Russian athletes to international competitions and expressed the hope that the suspension of Russians would be ended as soon as possible.
Previously, Johannes Be spoke out against the return of Russian athletes to international competitions.
– How soon do you think they will be able to bring us back to the international scene?
No one knows, we just hope so. Indeed, Russian fans lost interest in many sports without our guys. Hopefully this international sports brawl will end as soon as possible and we will be admitted.
– Now there is talk that we can be allowed under a neutral flag. What is your position on this subject?
Until I comment. I have my own position, but I will not speak now.
– What about Johannes Boe’s comments that it’s too early for our guys to return to the international scene?
– Don’t read. But it’s sad that they don’t see us as rivals, friends. We have always believed that sport was outside of politics, it has always been like that before. Not anymore, but I hope this concept will find its meaning. We should be friends and compete only on the track, and not in politics, – the correspondent reports Shipulin’s words.
