Panzhinsky: “The situation with Stupak is inflated, most foreign athletes treat Russians correctly and wait for their return”

Olympic silver medalist in cross-country skiing Alexander Panjinsky believes that journalists inflated the news that the Olympic champion Julia Stupak held a training session on the track of the World Cup stage, noting that the majority of foreign athletes have a positive attitude towards Russians.

Last week it became known that Stupak was training on the track in Italy. The athlete was engaged in a special vest, intended exclusively for participants of the competition. This drew criticism from a number of Norwegian athletes and FIS board member Erik Reste.

– I think that only a few athletes have spoken on this subject. Journalists clung to this hyper-inflated news. I’m sure Stupak was noticed by several people, and journalists were just hooked on this news. There are no problems, she has just trained in the city of the World Cup. There are no rules that she is not allowed to be there. I think the situation is exaggerated. Most athletes treat the Russians well and wait for them to come back,” Panzhinsky said on the show “There is a theme! on the channel.

Russian athletes have been suspended from participating in competitions under the auspices of the FIS due to the situation in Ukraine.
