President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maygurov told that the criteria by which, at the end of the season, the best region will receive the cup named after four-time Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov has not yet been determined, but the trophy itself is already in its desk.
Earlier, the Metaratings.ru portal reported that at the end of the season, the RBU plans to award the prize to the best region – the Alexander Tikhonov Cup. An agreement on this was reached during Tikhonov’s meeting with the RRF leadership in Raubichi.
— There is such an initiative. We think – according to what criteria it will be awarded.
– That is to say, if there is no approved concept, there is only an idea?
– Yes. I can say that it will definitely happen. Alexander Ivanovitch brought us his cup, which is now in my office. Alexander Ivanovich took the initiative, gave us a ransom – as we decide. The cut will be a challenge, and we will develop the criteria.
– Do you have an idea of the deadline for them to be developed?
– The season is approaching. In any case, we will award the prize after it ends. It does not matter here whether it is one criterion, two, five or a combination thereof. The cup will be a transitional cup, so many regions will be able to keep it for at least a year,” Maygurov told .
The last stage of the Biathlon Russian Cup will take place in Tchaikovsky from February 16 to 19.
