Pidruchny and Anastasia Merkushina will compete in the mixed relay at the 2023 World Championships

Yulia Dzhima and Anton Dudchenko are also in the application of the Ukrainian national team

Coach of the Ukrainian national biathlon team Yuraj Sanitra announced the composition of the team in the mixed relay at World Cup 2023 in Oberhof.

The first two stages will be for women, Ukraine will be represented there Anastasia Merkushina And Yulia Jima. In the final stages they will run Dmitry Pidruchny And Anton Dudchenko.

“As for the male part, yesterday’s training played a big role, where I saw the work of Pidruchny. We analyzed and decided that Dmitry would start. I will say that Prima and Tsymbal are not in the worst condition. I am glad that there is a reserve.

“I think that Pidruchny is a bit modest. I watched his performance in Obertiliach, saw his training – I have no doubt that Dmitry will be able to run at the highest level. I know his character and attitude to the relay. He can show a very good result tomorrow,” Sanitra said.

Recall that Pidruchny had a successful surgical intervention in Germany in December. The athlete was absent from the team due to a torn meniscus. The biathlete in his first race after the operation took third place in the sprint at the IBU Cup in Obertilliach, Austria.

The 2023 World Championships in Oberhof will take place from 8 to 19 February. The start of the mixed relay is at 15:45 Kyiv time.
