Sanitra: We had a desire to start better. Wanted to be in the top 6

Ukraine finished in 10th place in the mixed relay at the World Cup

Head coach of the Ukrainian men’s biathlon team Yuraj Sanitra commented on the results of the mixed relay at world championship 2023. The Ukrainian team took 10th place.

“We wanted to start this championship better. The conditions were very cool: a stable shooting situation, a good track. Speaking for the guys, there was no contact, Dudchenko and Pidruchny ran alone along the track. The position that we got after the women’s part was kept. took risks on shooting because they wanted to catch up with the teams in front.”

“We had a desire to start better. We wanted to be in the top 6. To confirm their ambitions with which they came to the championship. There are still many starts, so I think we will show ourselves better than today.”

“Dudchenko and Pidruchny adequately ran along the track. Then we will prepare for the next start – the sprint. I can say that Prima and Cymbal will start there. I will name the other two after tomorrow’s training, when we see how Pidruchny and Dudchenko’s recovery goes. If everything goes well, they will run,” said Sanitra.

The Norwegian team became the champions in the mixed relay.

The Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof, Germany will continue with the women’s sprint, which will take place on February 10. The men’s sprint will take place on February 11th.
