On Sunday, Efremenkova won the all-around final of the Russian Cup in short track speed skating. At the end of the month, she will perform in Kolomna during the final of the Russian Cup in speed skating.
– Katya, was the Russian Cup final on your calendar during the season, or did you plan to run it right away?
– Initially, I did not plan to participate in the final of the Russian Cup, but Vladimir Grigoriev said that the selection criteria had changed and it was better to run away, – Efremenkova told .

— How do you prepare for the short track?
– I join Vladimir Grigoriev’s team a few days before the start, that’s enough to technically feel all the sensations. Before the championship, I rode more with them.

– No. In fact, I even got the motivation, because many were skeptical, they said it wouldn’t work on skates either, and I would lose my place in short track.
– Do you allow yourself to think about a possible admission to international competitions?
– It is difficult to think about it, because it is not yet clear how and what, there are no clear decisions. We watch competitions, compare our results with rivals from other teams. Now I not only watch the Short Track World Cup, but also the Speed Skating World Cup.
– Going to Kirov and playing there in an open ice rink – would that be too much?
– Our team didn’t go there, in addition my schedule coincided with short track, but I can say that I’m still not at all used to performing on open rinks. I played in St. Petersburg, got sick, then recovered for a long time. So for now it’s difficult for me.
