“I learned to think positively. I hope everything will be fine next season.” Gerbulova – on returning to the international scene

Bronze medalist of the European Biathlon Championship Natalia Gerbulova told that she is looking to next season with a positive attitude and hopes the Russians will be allowed to participate in international competitions.

The IOC announced on January 25 that it would consider the possibility of admitting to the world departures Russian and Belarusian athletes in a neutral status, who have not actively supported the NWO. IOC chief Thomas Bach has admitted that Russians and Belarusians could participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris without national symbols. At the moment, there are no specific criteria for possible admission.

– As in all races, I want to go out and show the result I am ready for today. I will try to realize myself,” Gerbulova told before the start of the sixth stage of the Russian Cup.

– You don’t want to run away before the start of the Russian Championship?

– No. The charge is the same as usual. It is clear that it differs from the preparatory period, but in the competitive period it is less so. We were in the mountains, collecting. Most importantly, no one got sick.

– How does it feel to perform only in Russia and occasionally travel to Belarus?

We are in a situation where there is no choice. It remains to do our job, we think everything will be fine.

– Do you believe that the next season will be full-fledged?

I’m used to always thinking positively. I hope everything is okay.

The races of the final phase of the Russian Cup will be broadcast live on the channel, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites. The first start on Thursday will be the women’s sprint, the broadcast will begin at 8:40 a.m. (Moscow time).
