At this moment, the women’s individual race is taking place at the Biathlon World Championships. The national team of Ukraine did not fill its quota, and our country will be represented by only three athletes – Yulia Dzhima, Anna Krivonos and Lyubov Kipyachenkova.
The fourth was Anastasia Merkushina, but before the start, the athlete withdrew from the race.
The fact is that the coaches decided to save the biathlete for better preparation for the single mixed relay. According to Suspilne sport, Merkushina will perform here together with the captain and head of the men’s team, Dmitry Pidruchny.
It should be noted that our team played with this line-up in 2019 and 2020. Then Pidruchny and Merkushina presented the fifth and tenth time respectively.
The single mixed doubles will take place tomorrow, February 16, starting at 16.10 Kyiv time.
