President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maygurov told that the organization will not contest the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in a lawsuit against the International Biathlon Union (IBU), which will be handed down in March.
CAS announced on Tuesday that it would consider RRF’s request on March 21. The IBU announced in late February 2022 that it would only allow Russians and Belarusians to compete in neutral status. After that, the RBU announced that Russian athletes would not participate in the remaining stages of the World Cup until the end of the season. Subsequently, the IBU decided on the complete suspension of Russian and Belarusian biathletes.
– The examination of the complaint is a technical matter. We will not extend our claims further. The CAS simply has to follow the procedure after the IBU Executive Committee makes the decision and Congress approves it. Now technical actions are needed from the CAS in order to assess all stages of the IBU, Maigurov told a correspondent.
– Meaning there will be no story with a sequel after March 21st?
– Probably yes.
The last stage of the PARI Cup of Russia takes place in Tchaikovsky (Perm Territory) from February 16 to 19. The races will be broadcast live on the channel, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites. On Friday, the men’s sprint will take place, the broadcast will start at 8:40 (Moscow time).
