Dudchenko and Pidruchny will definitely perform in the men’s relay
Head coach of the Ukrainian biathlon team Yuraj Sanitra commented the result of our team in the single mixed relay at the 2023 World Championships in Oberhof, Germany and told who will run men’s relay.
“It’s hard to justify the result. I think that neither shooting nor on the track was the way they wanted. I think that the composition was not optimal, I will say it straight, I will not hide it. We had to run and shoot twice as well as we did. So this is the worst day for our team at this World Cup.”
“Dmitry, I think, ran well on the track. He had no physical problems. Already after the first shooting while standing, he said that his legs were shaking badly. I think that was the reason for the misses on the second rack. His leg is not that strong yet. Today the track was… It was necessary to keep stability there. Dmitry needs to be reinstated because he is a very strong part of the relay team.”
“Without Pidruchny, the relay race will not be 100% successful. We will look at the state after the individual race, who recovered how. Then I will talk with the doctor about Prima’s condition.
“As of now, Dudchenko and Pidruchny will run absolutely. I’ll name two more later. How we will run at the stages, we will think. I think that everyone wants to start – it’s good. I hope that we will be better prepared than in the single relay.”
The Ukrainian national team, consisting of Dmitry Pidruchny and Anastasia Merkushina, took 15th place in the single mixed relay at the 2023 World Championships in Oberhof.
The 2023 World Cup will continue with the men’s and women’s relay races on February 18.
