Biathlete Anastasia Batmanova after finishing in the pursuit race at the Russian Cup stage in Chaikovsky (Perm Territory), she told that she was happy with sixth place and the fight against Irina Kazakevich as well as shooting, despite the error made due to freezing.
The race took place on Saturday. Batmanova lost to the winner Larissa Kuklina 55.1 seconds. Kazakevich finished seventh.
– I am happy with the work done on the race. I don’t even know what position I took. Sixth? It’s great that we managed to compete with Irina Kazakevich at the finish lap, she’s a strong athlete. Good. The result is good for me,” Batmanova told a correspondent.
– What is the reason for the failure on the final line of fire?
– A simple mistake. It’s quite cold outside, the fingers are freezing. A miss on four borders is therefore an excellent result.
– So far, nothing has been invented to warm your hands while running?
– They invented it, of course (smile). But when we freeze our fingers since childhood, even at least one degree, nothing helps. My fingers are slightly numb.
