Swedish biathlete Sebastien Samuelson won the mass start at the World Championships in Oberhof.
Samuelsson covered the distance in 36 minutes 42.8 seconds with no misses on the range. Silver was won by compatriot Martin Ponsiluoma, bronze – Norwegian Johannes Be.
Earlier in the tournament, Be won five gold medals. Later Sunday, the women will lead the race from the general start.
Russian athletes are not competing this season by decision of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
