Sanitra: Pidruchny’s stick was broken at the beginning of the race. And in the rack again the problem, the legs began to shake

In the mass start, the Ukrainians did not get into the top 20

Head coach of the Ukrainian biathlon team Yuraj Sanitra commented on the results men’s mass start at the 2023 World Championships in German Oberhof.

“We expected a little more from this launch, but we need to really look at our current state. I won’t talk about Pidruchny, he had a stick broken at the beginning of the race in a place where the service could not stand. He then shot a penalty circle, ran almost 500 meters with one stick. Lost a lot. As for Dmitry’s shooting, there is another problem in the standing position, his legs began to shake. He lacks strength in his legs, this is manifested in standing shooting.

“For Dudchenko, I think there are too many starts in the last three weeks. Another factor that is also very important is that such a soft and broken track is not suitable for his technique. I lost a little confidence in shooting, there is no rhythm.

“Tishchenko did not start today. It should be understood that we counted on him at the closing of the IBU Cup in Canada. They are preparing for two days, in total it takes three days, a lot of money is needed to ensure such a trip, so they decided that it was better not to risk it. An hour and a half before the mass start, we found out that Artem could start, but at that time he was already at Frankfurt airport.”

Swedish biathlete Sebastian Samuelsson won the mass start at the 2023 World Championships in Oberhof, Germany. Pidruchny finished 23rd, Dudchenko – 25th.

The final race of the 2023 World Cup in Oberhof will be the women’s mass start. Start – at 16:00. Due to a cold, Ukrainian Yulia Jima withdrew from the mass start and the last race of the championship will take place without our biathletes.
