Artem Griazev admits that he came to the competition “on vacation” and considers biathlon as a number of hobbies. In the sprint of the sixth stage of the PARI Cup of Russia, the 34-year-old athlete became 51st, and in the pursuit he showed the 40th result, with five failures losing almost eight minutes to the winner. Edward Latypov .
“It was a very difficult start today. In the sprint, I “shot myself” and had to leave the “basement”. From the beginning I went very hard, I tried to catch up, but in the end this agility affected. Today the sun is shining, I don’t like it overheating. I dressed warmly and had difficulty breathing.
– You are the oldest participant of this stage of the Russian Cup. How are you physically?
– Yes, veteran, almost the oldest (laughing). I’m actually here on vacation.
– How?
– I’m going to work and the competition here is at such a high level for me – how to come to the Olympics. I like being at Tchaikovsky.
– And how to prepare for professional returns if you have a job?
– I work in three days at customs. And I am preparing at home, in Murmansk. Biathlon is my hobby, you might say.
– Awesome. And how does the boss view your hobby?
– Greetings, of course (smiling). We have our own departmental competitions, in which I also participate. And whenever possible I go to such competitions, I enjoy them.
– What rank?
— Lt.
– How does it feel to compete with Eduard Latypov and other leaders of the Russian team?
– It’s always a shame to lose, but I assess my level correctly. People train hard, go to the mountains and I do my best. Yesterday in the sprint I lost 1 minute 50 seconds with my feet, for me it’s a normal result. Today the skis didn’t work at all.
– And are you going to play in the Russian Championship next week?
– Yes. Now I will go to Izhevsk, then work. It’s my vacation.
– With such an attitude, you can run to fifty. Ready?
– No, it won’t be difficult. I also have a child now, I have to devote time to him,” Gryazev told .
