Three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov showed the third result in one of the classic sprint semi-finals at the Championship Heights competition.
Alexander Terentiev won the race, the second was Alexei Chervotkin. Bolshunov lost 0.37 seconds to the leader and qualified for the final as the lucky loser.
The competition started on Thursday on the Malinovka track in the Arkhangelsk region.
