Winner of the general classification of the Russian Cup of the 2022/23 biathlon season Karim Khalili told Metaratings.ru that from the first race of the season he set himself the task of winning this tournament.
At the end of the 2022/23 season, Khalili scored 571 points in the overall Russian Cup standings.
– How important is the victory in the general classification of the Russian Cup for you? After that, there is no slacking that the task for the season has been completed?
– No. Now the main departures are underway for us. In Tchaikovsky there were those races that make up the world championship, and here is the individual race. It’s such an extensive program, like at the World Championships. There is something to work on and something to prove and show. Yes, it’s good to win the Russian Cup. I set myself such a task from the first race of the season. The whole month of December, which turned out to be very tight, I raced up and down and kept the lead, which is good news.
Earlier, Khalili retired from the track during the mass start of the PARI Russian Championship in Izhevsk after the third shooting range.
