russian biathlete Anastasia Goreva spoke about the preparations for the final phase of the PARI Commonwealth Cup in Tyumen and Belarusian Dinara Smolskaya, whom she considers an example.
– At the finish line, I saw the tears of my friend from the Moscow region team Polina Shevnina. I hope these are tears of joy. After the decree, it’s hard for her to come back to the top level, but today I congratulate her on having finally broken through this top ten, and even more so the six. She’s already near the pedestal and I’m glad she managed to get back.
Now we are going home for a short time, to regain strength and rest, and then back to the training camp in Tyumen. I would like to gain some aerobic work after the rest, but above all I want to feel my body. The camp will not be long, because the competition begins on March 8.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to compete for the top spots in the overall Commonwealth Cup, as I haven’t raced there this summer, but the task is always the same – to be number one and gradually I’m orienting myself towards that.
Dinara Smolskaya is a good example for all of us, especially her work on the set, her work on the track, the way she goes through certain moments. There is a lot to learn from her. Unfortunately, she’s not here now, but I hope she comes to the Commonwealth Cup and fights with us. Dinara is a top athlete, at World Cup level, and we have to admire her,” Goreeva told Metaratings.ru.
