“The beginning of the season turned out to be very difficult, since January I started to come to life gradually” – Pervushin

Biathlete Mikhail Pervushin admitted to having struggled at the start of the season due to poor preparation and the transferred coronavirus.

Pervushin took third place in the mass start at the Russian Betting Championship on Sunday. The first was Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov.

– The hardest thing for me now is moving. The start of the season was very difficult, but today, in general, I am satisfied with myself, even if I made a mistake and did not work on the finish line. At the start of the season there were difficulties, because the preparation was not quite up to par and the transferred coronavirus prevented me from doing so, after which it became difficult for me to digest the load. The start of the season took off and from January I started to gradually come to life.

I hope it will go even better. On the final round of the fight, I just didn’t have enough strength. Tactically, I did everything competently and knew how to finish, but when the acceleration started, I started to fall behind, because there was no more force in the push.

I think running on fresh snow is difficult in bad shape, and not with a heavy weight athlete. Matvey Eliseev is also a general athlete, but he runs in good shape in all weathers. The same goes for Porshnev. The more it depends on the preparation and glide of the skis.

What is the reason for the success of our region (second, third and fourth place in two races – approx.)? We are preparing separately from each other, everyone has their own approach and reasons,” Pervushin told Metaratings.ru.
