Biathlete of the national team of the Republic of Udmurtia Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov admitted that victory in his hometown of Izhevsk in the Russian Betting Championship has become a landmark for him.

Mukhmedzyanov won the mass start gold medal at the Russian Betting Championship on Sunday. The biathlete finished with the flag of the republic. Second place was taken by Ivan Kolotov, third was Mikhail Pervushin.

– Emotions are the most positive, because this victory happened in my hometown of Izhevsk at the stadium, where I am almost constantly. This is a very important victory for me.

I was just going with my thoughts to show the most worthy result, so that everything went both on the turn and from a distance. After two misses at the final frontier, there was a thought, “Well, we’ll fight.” And I immediately started working on the penalty loop. The coaches told me who shoots how, and the fans also supported me.

Of course, I felt tired. Fan support touched. There were a lot more people today than the first day. Support was everywhere and I understood what was going on.

Cooler than today’s win in my life was just getting married to my wife. It won’t really be possible to celebrate the victory, because tomorrow I’m flying to Moscow for an exam. On the last lap I thought it would be nice to finish with the flag, so in the first part of the distance I tried to run fast and leave a reserve for that.
