Biathlete of the national team of the Tyumen region Victoria Slivko admitted that she was not ready to fight in a big mass start as part of the Pari of Russia championship, but she practiced every blow.
The race took place on Sunday. Slivko covered the distance in 40 minutes 53.9 seconds, with a penalty on the range. The second was Anastasia Goreeva, the third – Ekaterina Noskova.
– You saw my terrible shot yesterday, so there is no secret here, I just worked, tried to do everything right and fought for every shot, realizing that it was worth a lot. Playing 25 seconds is very difficult. I wasn’t ready to fight on the move, but today’s race showed that I was in pretty good condition.
I don’t know how I managed to escape Goreeva on the last lap. I was waiting for her to catch me and I was ready for second place, but then I started working as hard as I could. I was told I should try to hold the first climb and then they definitely wouldn’t catch me. I did it.
In Izhevsk, I have mixed emotions. I am unhappy with two races. I think it’s unacceptable for me to shoot and run so badly. Today I just pulled myself together and showed that I am capable of fighting with everyone on an equal footing. My health is still not optimal, because I was really very sick. I had a fever and was violently thrown backwards. Now you have to train a lot to get in shape.
I think I will be in more or less optimal form in the Russian Championship, if everything goes as planned,” Slivko told Metaratings.ru.
