Olympic short track coach Elistratov’s Seeds Andrey Maksimov said there was a regression in the development of the sport after the home Games in Sochi.
He said this at the congress on reporting and elections, which is taking place in Moscow.
— From 2011 to 2014 we had progress in short track, and since 2014 it has decreased. We would like our teams to be at the top of the medal standings. And looking at other teams, how everything is arranged there, who they report to, envy arises. When an athlete of a team wins a medal, no one, neither the athletes, nor the coaches, nor the management, congratulates him during the celebration. And besides, there was a chance to declare Semyon at a distance of 500 m, when it was clear that it was necessary to get a quota, but this chance was not used, – said Maximov
– Semyon Elistratov has always received and receives maximum support. He received priority care, never had any complaints. Why he was not congratulated at the World Championships by other athletes, coaches, who were there among the representatives of the federation, it is difficult for me to say, – said the president of the TFR Alexei Kravtsov.
