Organizers mixed the flags of Sweden and Switzerland at the men’s ski cross medal ceremony at the World Snowboard and Freestyle Championships, which is taking place in Bakuriani, Georgia.
The gold medal in this discipline was won by the Italian Simone Deromedis, the second by the German Florian Wilmsman, the third place by Erik Moberg from Sweden.
According to Expressen, during the awards ceremony, the flag of Switzerland, not Sweden, appeared on the video wall behind Moberg. Expert Lars Leven, who reported on one of the TV stations, laughed, noting that “sometimes the flags of Sweden and Switzerland are confused.”
A few minutes later, the organizers corrected themselves and replaced the flag with the correct one.
