Speed skaters Kirill Batyushkin and Albina Ilyasova won the 1000m distance at the Asian Children’s Winter Games in Kuzbass.
Ilyasova represents the Ural Federal District (UFD), Batyushkin represents the Siberian Federal District (SFD). The second place among the girls was taken by Veronika Beskhlebnaya (Moscow), the third – by Anna Potapova (SFO). On the men’s side, silver was won by Matvey Bazhanov (Moscow), bronze by Danil Borisov (SFO).
At a distance of 3000 m, Belarusian Polina Sivets became the winner. The second result was shown by Ilyasova, the third by Alisa Novikova (UFO). Yuri Fogel (SFD) became the best among the boys, Bazhanov won the silver medal, Alexander Lopaev (UFO) won the bronze medal.
“Children of Asia” takes place in Kuzbass from February 23 to March 5. The games program included competitions in cross-country skiing, speed skating, hockey, snowboarding, downhill skiing, figure skating and other sports. For the first time in the history of the games, the competition is organized by four territories at once: Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk, Tashtagolsky municipal district.
