Czech biathletes received bronze medals at the Olympics in Sochi, which they received after the result of the Russians was canceled

Czech biathletes Eva Puskarchikova , Gabriela Koukalova , Jitka Landova And Veronika Vitkova received the bronze medals of the 2014 Olympics in Sochi after the redistribution of awards in the relay, associated with the cancellation of the results of the Russian team, reports the press service of the National Olympic Committee of the Czech Republic.

The award ceremony took place during the World Cup stage in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic).

The Czech team at the Sochi Olympics took fourth place in the relay, Russians Yana Romanova, Olga Zaitseva, Ekaterina Shumilova and Olga Vilukhina won silver.

The Russian team was stripped of its medals after Vilukhin , romanova And Zaitsev were found guilty of an anti-doping rule violation. Subsequently, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) acquitted Vilukhina and Romanova, and the sentence Zaitseva remained in force.

After the disqualification of the Russian team, the silver went to the Norwegian team, the bronze went to the Czech team.
