The second medal of Ukraine in Kazakhstan
Ukrainian biathlete Alexandra Merkushina won bronze in the individual race at the 2023 World Junior Championships in Shchuchinsk (Kazakhstan).
Merkushina Jr. made 3 mistakes at the shooting range, and at the finish she was only two hundredths of a second ahead of the Italian Carlotta Gautero and became the third.
Another Ukrainian finished in the top 10 Elena Gorodnaya, which took 7th place. Julia Kink from Germany became the world champion.
This is the second medal of Ukraine at the Junior World Cup 2023. Earlier, our team won bronze in the mixed relay. Elena Gorodnaya, Alexandra Merkushina, Bogdan Borkovsky and Mikhail Khmil performed as part of the blue-and-yellow teams.
