The biathlete did not start in the pursuit due to a positive test
Ukrainian biathlete Dmitry Pidruchny will miss the rest of the season due to coronavirussaid the coach of the men’s biathlon team of Ukraine Juraj Sanitra.
“There is no good information about Pidruchny, who did not start in the pursuit. Dmitry fell ill, he tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. At present, I can say that his season is over,” said Sanitra.
“His condition is not the best. Pity him, he was in good physical condition. I expected him to be able to show a good result at the next competitions and help in the Nations Cup. But this season does not give us happiness – we are struggling with health problems from the very beginning.
Recall that Pidruchny had an operation in Germany in December. The athlete missed part of the season due to a torn meniscus.
At the World Cup stage in the Czech Nove Mesto, Dmitry took 32nd place in the sprint. Pidruchny qualified for the pursuit race, but did not start.
