The captain of the men’s national team of Ukraine will no longer participate in international competitions due to the coronavirus.

The season is over for the leader and captain of the Ukrainian men’s biathlon team, Dmitry Pidruchny. The Ukrainian athlete will no longer perform in international competitions due to the fact that he contracted the coronavirus.

At the same time, our biathlete hopes to compete in the Ukrainian championship.

“I think I have finished the season. I have finished my World Cup performances. Unless I recover quickly, and if the team needs me. I doubt about Östersund. And I doubt about Oslo. Will try to prepare for the Ukrainian championship. Maybe I’ll run after the race, maybe all. Because I’m thirsty for starts. And my time is very short.

It’s frustrating, and I want to start over. If I recover quickly, I will start with the Ukrainian Championship, so as not to forget what a competition is. I am glad that I competed this season at the World Championships, because it is the main start of the season. I prepared for it and I think I did it well,” said Pidruchny.

Recall that Dmitry Pidruchny previously underwent knee surgery, because of which he missed most of the season, returning only before the World Cup.
