Czechs became champions
National team of Ukraine among youths took 8th place V relay at the 2023 World Junior Championships biathlon in Shchuchinsk (Kazakhstan).
Egor Makarenko, Bohdan Borkovsky and Mikhail Khmil ran for the Ukrainian team. After a penalty loop, according to the results of the first shooting, the Ukrainians were 19th, but thanks to the efforts of Borkovsky and Khmil, our team managed to finish in the top 10.
The victory in the race was won by the Czech team, which was ahead of Germany by 21 seconds.
Earlier, Ukrainian girls took 4th place in the relay at the 2023 Junior Biathlon World Cup.
At the Junior World Cup 2023, our team has two medals. Alexandra Merkushina won bronze in the individual race. Our team also won bronze in the mixed relay. Elena Gorodnaya, Alexandra Merkushina, Bogdan Borkovsky and Mikhail Khmil performed as part of the blue-and-yellow teams.
