The coach is pleased with the performance of his team
Head coach of the Ukrainian men’s biathlon team Yuraj Sanitra commented on the performance of his wards in the individual race at the World Cup stage in Östersund, Sweden.
“As a team, I think we have shown a good result again. All five athletes competed to win the highest possible position in the Nations Cup. A good bonus for us is Anton Dudchenko’s 12th place. He showed a very good move on the track. Denis Nasyko surprised me with shooting today, who also showed his best result. All in all, we got a good amount of points to get a little clear of the Finns and Slovenes in the Nations Cup.”
“It was difficult for Denis, because he kept in mind that he could fight for a good result. I liked how he worked on the final shooting, because he was in no hurry: he worked all the shots and put it off when he needed it. Handled the last firing line very professionally.”
“I thought that Artem [Тищенко] cope better with shooting, but he showed a good character, after a hard journey he got ready. I moved well on the track and helped the team.”
“It’s too early to tell [о составе на эстафету]. There are several options in my head, but I need to wake up tomorrow and talk with the athletes, who and how will feel.”
Dudchenko took 12th place in the individual race – this will allow him to compete in the mass start. Denis Nasyko finished 25th, Bogdan Tsymbal finished 39th, Artem Prima 46th, and Artem Tishchenko 54th. The victory in the men’s “individual” was won by the German Benedikt Doll.
The stage in Östersund will continue with the men’s and women’s relay races on March 11.
