Ukrainian Gorodnaya took 7th place in the sprint at the 2023 Junior Biathlon World Cup

Alexandra Merkushina failed shooting and finished only 18th

Ukrainian biathlete Elena Gorodnaya finished 7th in the sprint on Biathlon World Junior Championships 2023 in Shchuchinsk (Kazakhstan).

Gorodnaya made only one miss, and at the finish line Elena was one and a half minutes behind the winner Julia Tannheimer from Germany, and 50 seconds behind the third place.

Oleksandra Merkushina was the fastest on the track among Ukrainians (8th time), but she made five misses at once on shooting. As a result, Merkushina finished in 18th place.

At the Junior World Cup 2023, our team has two medals. Alexandra Merkushina won bronze in the individual race. Our team also won bronze in the mixed relay. Elena Gorodnaya, Alexandra Merkushina, Bogdan Borkovsky and Mikhail Khmil performed as part of the blue-and-yellow teams.
