American Michaela Shiffrin became the record holder for the number of victories at the Alpine Skiing World Cup.
On Saturday, Shiffrin won the World Cup slalom event in Are (Sweden). The second was Wendy Holdener from Switzerland, the first three winners were Anna Svenn Larsson from Sweden.
Due to the American skier has 87 victories, she was ahead of Swedish double Olympic champion and five-time world champion Ingemar Stenmark (86). American Lindsey Vonn is second in women’s wins (82).
Shiffrin is a double Olympic champion, she won the slalom at the Sochi Games in 2014 and the giant slalom in Pyeongchang in 2018. The athlete also has six victories at the world championships in slalom, super-G and combined. Additionally, Shiffrin has won the World Cup five times.
