Ukrainian Gorodnaya missed a medal in the pursuit race at the 2023 Junior Biathlon World Cup

Oleksandra Merkushina became the best Ukrainian

Ukrainian biathlete Alexandra Merkushina finished 10th in the pursuit on Biathlon World Junior Championships 2023 in Shchuchinsk (Kazakhstan).

Only 11th place was taken by another Ukrainian Elena Gorodnaya, which was 7th in the sprint. In the pursuit race, she claimed medals until the last shooting range, but earned two penalty laps and dropped out of the top 10.

In the men’s race, the best of the Ukrainians became Mikhail Khmilwhich showed the 14th result.

At the Junior World Cup 2023, our team has two medals. Alexandra Merkushina won bronze in the individual race. Our team also won bronze in the mixed relay. Elena Gorodnaya, Alexandra Merkushina, Bogdan Borkovsky and Mikhail Khmil performed as part of the blue-and-yellow teams.
