Sanitra: At the end of the season, the guys showed a very good physical condition

The men’s team coach is pleased with the performance at the World Cup in Östersund

Male trainer national team of Ukraine biathlon Yuraj Sanitra commented on the performance of the team at the stage World Cup in Östersund, Sweden.

“We have a very good mood in the team after this World Cup in Östersund. I think that we have fulfilled the main goals with which we came here: to hold the position, break away from Slovenia and Finland [в Кубке наций]. I think we got it. I think that at the end of the season the guys showed a very good physical condition. I like that we managed to keep the concentration, which showed the shooting.

“I would generally react to the thesis that after the World Cup the rest of the teams went down. I would say that we are no worse prepared than for the World Cup. There we could not cope with the weather, but here the conditions were very stable, the tracks were good. And the guys showed that we can use the base laid in the summer at the end of the season. Therefore, a big thank you to everyone who helped us achieve a position that guarantees us ninth place in the Nations Cup.”

“I think it makes no sense to change the composition. We will also close the last stage in Oslo with the athletes that we have. And for some biathletes, this will not be the end of the season yet: Prima, Dudchenko, Tsimbala and Nasyko are still waiting for the world army games in Sweden. after Oslo they will drive home and then go straight to the competitions.”

“The Ukrainian Championship is still far away, we will see who will feel after the final stage of the World Cup in Oslo. But now we are planning that we would start at least at one start at the Ukrainian Championship in Bukovel. Pidruchny? Dmitry earlier, somewhere in the first days of next week in Bukovel will start training. And we are already planning that he will start 100% at the Ukrainian Championship.”

At the World Cup stage in Östersund, the Ukrainian men’s team took fifth place in the relay. Anton Dudchenko was 16th in the mass start on the last day of the competition.

The final stage of the World Cup will be held in Holmenkolen, Norway. The men’s sprint competition program will open on March 16.
