Previously, Ahn did not get a position in the coaching staff of the South Korean national team, for which he applied.

– We’re on good terms. But as far as I know, he is not yet ready to work in Russia, in particular, it is still a family matter,” Gulyaev told .
Victor Ahn (Ahn Hyun-soo) won four Olympic medals at the Turin Games in 2006 as part of the South Korean team, and the athlete won four more medals at the 2014 Olympics already in the Russian team. The short track skater finally retired in 2020 and worked as a coach in the Chinese team.
