Three-time Norwegian biathlon Olympic champion Marte Olsbu-Rijseland announced his retirement at the age of 32.
— Biathlon will forever be in my heart. That’s why it’s something special and very moving to be here today and to say that Holmenkollen will be my last World Cup.
It’s weird and sad, but at the same time, the decision feels incredibly fair. I look forward to what life has to offer me next,” Reiseland said as quoted by VG.
The World Cup stage in Holmenkollen will take place from March 16 to 19. Reiseland is 15th overall.
Reiseland won three gold medals at the 2022 Games in Beijing. Also, the Norwegian has two silver and two bronze medals at the Olympic Games, 13 victories at the world championships and a big Crystal Globe at the end of the 2021/22 season.
