Three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov told that the Alexander Bolshunov Cup could become an annual tournament for children.
On Tuesday, the Bolshunov tournament was held in the Moscow region. Skiers between the ages of 8 and 18 took part in the competition. The athletes were divided into five groups and ran different distances from 500m to 5km.
– The “Truth” sports school came up with the idea of organizing such a tournament under my name. I gladly accepted. We found a suitable date, so everything went well.
The competitions were great, lots of kids came. However, not all beginners had enough space, as the number of rooms was limited. Next year we will be ready for more participants. These competitions are in test mode, moreover it will be more interesting. I hope we will make the competition traditional,” Bolshunov told .
– You didn’t want to go to the start with the children?
– I’ll get out no problem. But today I have already done the training, in addition I am already after the illness: I approach these moments with caution.
