Olympic medalist Chevalier Boucher to retire after Holmenkolen World Cup

Another biathlete is preparing to retire from active sports at the end of the season

French biathlete Anais Chevalier-Bouchet announced retirement. The athlete will perform for the last time at the final stage World Cup 2022/23 in Norwegian Holmenkollen.

The 30-year-old athlete won two silver medals at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing and a bronze medal at Pyeongchang 2018. Chevalier-Boucher also won the World Championships six times.

Earlier, the record holder of the women’s biathlon in the number of gold medals at the World Championships, three-time Olympic champion Marte Olsby-Røiseland announced her retirement. Also, Beijing 2022 Olympic champion Denise Herrmann-Wick will hold her last races in her career.

The final stage of the Biathlon World Cup will be held in Holmenkollen from 16 to 19 March. The men’s sprint, which will take place on Thursday, will open the competition program. The beginning is at 16:15 Kyiv time.
