The ISU Council opposed the modification of the age limit for officials

In Phuket (Thailand) is held the second day of the congress of the International Skating Union (ISU), which will vote for the age of the officials.

ISU Secretary General Freddy Schmidt said before announcing the vote that the organisation’s board of directors did not support the proposal, as the current age limit (75) has not changed for 70 year. Failure to raise the bar will not allow Russian ISU Vice President Alexander Lakernik, now 77, to be re-elected to his post.

The vote was considered secret.
