Navka believes that the admission of Russians to the ISU Congress could be a prerequisite for the athletes’ return to the international scene

The admission of Russian representatives to participate in the Congress of the International Skating Union (ISU) could be one of the steps towards the return of Russian athletes to the international scene, believes the 2006 Olympic champion in ice dancing. Tatyana Navka .

In Monday’s vote, congress delegates did not accept the Ukrainian side’s proposal to withdraw Russians and Belarusians from participation in the congress and ISU elections.

– That’s very good news. Perhaps this decision will become a positive prerequisite for the return of Russian athletes to the international stage. Hope we are crossing our fingers. International figure skating will not develop without the admission of Russian athletes to competitions. Our skaters create competitions from year to year, – quotes the words of Navka “RBC Sport”.

The ISU Congress is taking place in Phuket from June 6-10.
