french biathlete Julia Simon became the owner of a small crystal globe in the pursuit standings in the 2022/23 World Cup season.
The International Biathlon Union (IBU) previously announced that due to unfavorable weather conditions, the World Cup final sprint race in Holmenkollen (Norway) had been postponed from Friday to Saturday, as part of which the female pursuit had been called off.
Thus, the position in the classification of the pursuit races will no longer change. Simon has 373 points. Sweden’s Elvira Oeberg (350) was second, while Italy’s Dorothea Wierer (285) was third.
Simon is the 2022 Olympics silver medalist in the mixed relay, two-time world champion. The 26-year-old Frenchwoman leads the overall World Cup standings this season.
The stage in Holmenkollen will end on March 19.
