On Tuesday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will examine two complaints by the RBU against the IBU regarding the suspension of Russian biathletes.
“There are no expectations or forecasts, these are technical formalities to close the case, pure litigation,” Maygurov told .
The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended at the end of February 2022 that the international federations withdraw the Russians and Belarusians from the start. The IBU announced that it would only allow Russians and Belarusians to compete in neutral status. After that, the RBU announced that Russian athletes would not participate in the remaining stages of the World Cup until the end of the season. Subsequently, the IBU decided on the complete suspension of Russian and Belarusian biathletes.
