Three-time Olympic champion Kirchner has resigned as head coach of the German biathlon team after 13 years with the team

Three-time Olympic champion Mark Kirchner has stepped down as head coach of the German men’s biathlon team.

Kirchner has held this position since 2010, under his leadership the German relay team won silver at the Sochi Olympics and bronze at the Pyeongchang Olympics.

First, a special thank you to my wife and family. Without them, this journey and 100% support of competitive sports would not be possible. The work brought me a lot of joy until the very end. But now it’s time to pave the way for new projects, — quotes the words of Kirchner Nordic Ski in reference to the ARD television channel.

Kirchner in the status of an athlete won three gold medals at the 1992 Games in Albertville, he also won seven gold medals at the world championships.
