It is also planned to rejuvenate the composition of the women’s team
President of the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine Ivan Krulko said that the women’s national team of Ukraine will change the coaching staff.
“Yes, we will have changes. If we are talking about the men’s team, then Juraj Sanitra will continue to work. We trust him and trust the methodology that he uses. Many young athletes have grown noticeably – this is important.”
“As for the women’s team, we will have a new coaching staff. But we will announce the last names after the meeting of the coaching council and the presidium of the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine, which must approve these decisions. It would be incorrect to announce in advance, but the women’s team is planning to rejuvenate the roster and there will be changes in coaches. These will be local specialists. The FBU Presidium is to be held in the first half of April.”
Recall that in the current season, the women’s national team of Ukraine was headed by Oleksandr Kravchenko, who replaced Urosh Velepets in the spring of 2022.
At the end of the season, the women’s team did not win a single medal in the individual or relay races of the World Cup. Under the leadership of Kravchenko, the Ukrainian women’s team closed the top 10 in the biathlon Nations Cup standings, keeping a quota of five athletes for the next season.
The best result in the individual races of the season = 2022/23 of the World Cup was shown by Yulia Dzhima – 11th place at the World Cup stage in Novo Mesto.
