Russian biathlete Lyubov Kalinina spoke about the results of the 2023 World Championship, which was held without national athletes.
In the 2022/2023 season, Kalinina is the only junior to have spent a full season at adult level. Lyubov became the youngest participant in the Russian Cup and won silver in the national championship.
– At the World Championships, there was an interesting fight among the girls, because their top six is constantly changing, and everything was clear for the men (smiles). But in Europe, things are a bit different. There are fewer people there and it often happens that such young athletes are already performing well at the Adult World Cup. On February 28, 2022, the IOC recommended that international sports federations prevent Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international tournaments.
